The Goddess

The Goddess

A whimsical smile and a mischievous glance

Sweet toss of the hair, sparkling eyes that dance

This delicate being through evocative grace

Restores life from death through healing embrace

A mysterious presence, this angel of love

Goddess of compassion, come down from above

Caressing my wounds and instilling new bliss

My emptiness transformed by an intimate kiss

I give thanks to God for a life renewed

For love given freely and deep hope imbued

This Goddess of grace has given to me

New heart, new life, and the blessing of Thee

Birth of a New Day

Pale light flickers, orange flecks grey

Shadows intruded by glimmers of day

Dawn light streaming, crimson turns gold

A waking earth startled as its beauty unfolds.

Outback glistens, wetness finds heat

Earth gasps bravely, birth nearly complete

A new day heralded by the labor of night

Creation exhausted by a cry of delight!

A land now bathed in the glow of new life

Giving thanks and rejoicing beyond all strife

Limb like hills stretch upward saluting the sky

Dawning complete

God's presence is nigh.
